Enough with the “Green” cars, OK?
August 4th, 2008
Remember that big word “photosynthesis” that we all learned in elementary school? For those that don’t, it is the process by which green plants combine CO2 and sunlight - resulting in oxygen and enery for the plant. That’s right folks, GREEN PLANTS BREATHE CO2!
How would we feel if plants all got together and cut their oxygen emmission in an effort to “go human?” Oh wait, that sounds like a recent M. Night Shyamalan movie…
So the next time you drive that gas-guzzling SUV past a patch of trees, rest assured that they are all taking a nice deep breath of that fresh CO2.

The Jayhawks win the Orange Bowl!
January 12th, 2008

I gotta be honest, when we came to Kansas last August, I was secretly laughing inside at the Jayhawk’s football program. With myself loyal to the Badgers, Tobey and I joked about a Wisconsin-Jayhawk bowl game someday and how we would have to sit on opposite sides of the field. But the Jayhawks dont get ranked, let alone make make a major bowl, right?
Well I was so surprised this year when Mangino pulled it off. What impressed me the most is he didnt do it by getting the best players, he didn’t buy the talent (noo, that NEVER happens in NCAAF), and he certainly isn’t the most innovative coach around (no offense, big guy). But he did it by building a team, making them hungry for the win, and putting together a system of plays that the team could master. In other words, some good old fashioned football thats great to watch.
So after the 11-1 regular season, Tobey, myself, and the regular tailgaiting crew roadtripped it down to Florida for New Years on Miami Beach followed by the ORANGE BOWL! I couldn’t believe it! It was so awesome, and because they weren’t playing my beloved Badgers I was 100% for the Jayhawks! After one heck of a nailbiter, the Jayhawks came out on top to beat Virginia Tech 24-21. And in my opinion, that score does not accurately reflect the game. Aside from two very successful drives by Virginia Tech (aided by some questionable reffing) the Jawhawks dominated the game with 5 sacks, 3 interceptions, and a blocked kick.
WAY TO GO JAYHAWKS! WHAT AN AWESOME WEEK!
